Highlights from the Fort Garry Brewing Company

On Tuesday February 12, AAOM members enjoyed the first site tour planned for 2013–an inspection of the Fort Garry Brewing Company located in Winnipeg. Here are some of the highlights:

Fort Garry Brewing Company 1 This visit provided an opportunity to tour the plant, taking special notice of the physical features and building attributes that characterize an industrial property. The physical inspection was complemented by an in-depth presentation of the beer-making process.

Participants were provided with a list of key elements to consider when inspecting industrial sites, and a post-inspection questionnaire to qualify for re-certification credits (with special thanks to Larry Barthelette).

Special thanks to Mirek Frolek for coordinating the event, with the assistance of Joanne Voelpel, Michael Cortvriendt, and  Rick Sherrin.
