Once again, January brings the annual shock from the West Coast.
The B.C. Assessment Authority has released their list for 2016 of the top valued home assessments in the province . As always, it is hair-raising viewing.
The Vancouver Sun reports that as many as 55,000 British Columbia homeowners are now above the previous year’s $1.1 million threshold for receiving the provincial homeowner’s grant on their property tax.
The highest assessment was $63,870,000 for a home in Vancouver’s Kitsilano district.
Vancouver home: nearly $64 million in assessed value for 2016.
Number two was in Point Grey(Vancouver) at $57,058,000.
Third place went to a property in the Gulf Islands which clocked in at a mere $51,621,000.
