Recertification Information

Recertification Information for AAM members.

By Michael Cortvriendt, AAM

Dear Members,

At our 2018 AGM I spoke to the delegation about the creation of a professional development program that would require members to accumulate mandatory recertification credits throughout a prescribed cycle.

The program has yet to be designed and before it is implemented would be discussed and voted on by the membership.  A key feature of the proposed program, will be a transition period that would allow members to become accustomed to the new requirements.  In order that everyone remains inspired, another key feature of the new program is a carry forward of credits from the voluntary program.  With a graduated implementation and the option to carry forward earned credits, we hope that we are creating opportunities for a successful transition.

For now, this means that the current Voluntary Recertification Program continues to be in place.  This will not change until the membership officially votes on the new program.  With the option to carry forward credits, I would hope that folks remain inspired to look for opportunities to continue their training and education.
